SALLIE L. VALENTINE, pe

Project Engineer
Delta Precast

Ms. Valentine is a structural design engineer for Delta Precast and is based in our Endwell, NY office.

Sallie verifies design integrity and accuracy for a variety of specialty precast concrete structures such as box culverts, arches, buried vaults, cantilever retaining walls, anchor walls, MSE walls, railway platforms, along with one and two-story precast buildings.

She has extensive software experience including RISA, Enercalc and ET Culvert. RISA is used to model, and analyze two-dimensional, and three-dimensional plates, vaults and frames. The Enercalc environment allows Sallie to design and review elastic foundations, using spring supports to represent a given soil subgrade modulus. ET Culvert quickly analyzes and designs wall thicknesses and reinforcement sizes and spacing.

Having difficulty navigating through the myriad of standards? Sallie can help, as she is experienced designing with AASHTO Standard, AASHTO LRFD, IBC, ASCE 7, AREMA and ACI 318 design specifications and the Federal Aviation Administration AC 150.

As an avid supporter of science and technical education, Sallie is also a coordinator for the regional Broome County area, six-county, Mathcounts Competition held at the State University of New York at Delhi.  Mathcounts is a national middle school competitive mathematics competition that provides the opportunity for students to compete in live, in-person contests against and alongside their peers.
