Buffalo-Niagara Medical Campus Parking Garage Precast Panels
The Buffalo-Niagara medical campus underwent a tremendous expansion, which involved the demolition and replacement of a new $40 million dollar parking garage that increased the parking capacity from 800 to 1825 spaces.
Lakelands Concrete Products relied on Delta Precast to provide design and shop drawings for architectural panels on every facade of the eight-story structure. The 126 reinforced precast panels were specified to wind tolerances that ranged in size from 8’ to 30’ long, weighed a combined total of 955 tons and used 471 cubic yards of concrete. The facade also featured a design pattern with a smooth top section and an acid washed lower section to give it a sleek look and feel. Galvanized connection plates were embedded for on-site installation and in some instances, retrofitting designs were produced to accommodate construction variables.
Delta Precast worked closely with Lakelands throughout the project to ensure that all design and manufacturing requirements were met to create a functional yet architecturally appealing parking garage that complimented the building’s existing structure.
