This $1.33 million dollar project involves the rehabilitation of the Country Club Road Bridge over Patterson Creek (BIN 2225790) in the Town of Union, Broome County, NY and the reconstruction of approximately 400 feet of the bridge approach roadways. The existing bridge is a 47.5 foot single span steel beam structure. The project includes superstructure replacement with new galvanized steel beams with precast deck panels, sidewalks and Texas Bridge Barrier, substructure repairs, bearing replacement, heavy stone fill scour protection and a temporary on-site pedestrian bridge. Due to high traffic volumes bridge closure will be limited to 3 weeks by utilizing Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) technology precast deck panels.
Work tasks include design survey and mapping, development of a design report, preliminary and final bridge and roadway design, environmental documentation, public participation and coordination with adjacent business owners, utility coordination, advertisement and bidding services, and construction support and inspection services.
It is a locally-managed federally-funded “Bridge NY” project, which mandated use of New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) design procedures and criteria and an adherence to an 18-month consultant design schedule.
